There are weddings where every moment feels carefully planned… and then there are weddings where the best photographs happen somewhere in between the plans.

Ashi and Kushagra’s wedding at Nandan Resort, Bhopal had plenty of both.

From the very beginning, the photographs had a strong sense of personality. The getting-ready portraits were quieter and more considered — Ashi surrounded by jewellery, makeup and those few peaceful minutes before the celebrations properly began. Her bridal portraits, especially against the darker interiors and textured brick surroundings, gave us an opportunity to create something slightly more intimate and cinematic.

We also chose to photograph some of these moments in black and white. Without colour competing for attention, the focus shifts completely to expression, light, jewellery, textures and the mood of the moment.

Kushagra’s photographs had a very different energy.

His preparation was relaxed, playful and full of interaction. Whether getting dressed, adjusting the sherwani or sharing a laugh with a friend, there was a natural ease to the way he moved through the day. The brick architecture and warm, rustic surroundings of the venue added another layer to these photographs, giving the images a slightly editorial character without making them feel overly styled.

And then came the people.

Because a wedding isn’t only about the bride and groom.

Some of our favourite frames from Ashi and Kushagra’s celebration are the ones where their friends and family completely took over the photograph. The laughter, teasing, shouting, reactions and spontaneous group photographs brought an entirely different energy to the story.

The contrast between the quieter portraits and these louder, more energetic frames is what makes the collection interesting.

There are photographs of jewellery and bridal details… photographs of outfits being put together… portraits where everything is perfectly composed… and photographs where nobody seems to be paying attention to the camera at all.

That variety is important to us at Kameraworks.

We don’t want an entire wedding gallery to look like a collection of poses. We want it to have movement. We want different moods, different perspectives and photographs that remind you of the actual people who were there.

Nandan Resort worked beautifully for this approach. Its combination of open spaces, natural surroundings and rustic architectural elements gave us different visual environments throughout the celebrations. The brick walls, covered verandahs, soft natural light and greenery became part of the photographs rather than simply serving as a backdrop.

Looking back at Ashi and Kushagra’s photographs, what stands out most is how little of the day feels forced.

There is elegance, but there is also humour.

There are carefully composed portraits, but there are also completely unplanned moments.

And somewhere between the two is where we found their story.
